Goldstar is proud to celebrate its 40th Anniversary.
One of Aberdeen’s longest-serving family businesses, Goldstar has unrivalled experience in property cleaning and maintenance, and has built a solid, trusted reputation in both the commercial and domestic sectors.
Goldstar manages around 500 jobs a day, employs a team of 150-plus, and has a fleet of 30 satellite-tracked vehicles serving a loyal and growing customer base across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Inverness, Moray and Tayside.
The business was founded by Andy Willox, who later went on to be awarded an OBE for his services to the small businesses in the North-east. Since 2006, Goldstar has been run by Andy’s son, Scott Willox, and his wife, Rachel. Today’s Goldstar works closely with more than 600 regular clients across the domestic, commercial, industrial, construction, retail, leisure, hospitality, healthcare and education sectors.
Through the highs and lows of the last 40 years, Goldstar has been there. They’ve worked on many of the landmark buildings and projects that have shaped the region, and take immense pride in the part they continue to play in helping to make Aberdeen City & Shire shine.
Scott said: “Everything we have achieved as a team over 40 years has been through hard work, absolute customer focus, and a true passion for what we do. Our teams take pride in responding to client needs and, equally, are pro-active in monitoring contracts to stay on top of every issue. Scott and Rachel firmly believe that great people are at the heart of a great business and they are passionate about developing staff to allow them to reach their potential. This approach encourages Goldstar staff to progress and has resulted in a high degree of staff retention and loyalty. Most of Goldstar’s staff have been with them for at least five years. All managers have progressed through the ranks.
The business was delighted to be named Finalist in the Business of the Year category of the Northern Star Business Awards earlier this year, recognition for the team’s professionalism and customer care. Scott said: “It’s been a remarkable year for us all. We’ve all gone through so much together. From everyone at Goldstar, we’d like to say a huge thank you to our clients for their custom and support.
